Frida Clerhage Illustrations
Our darling designer Frida Clerhage, based in Gothenburg, Sweden, brings you unique crafts(wo)manship through colorful patterns and retro looks. Her inspiration is drawn from two major issues the world is struggling with today: Gender Equality and Sustainability. Creating is a passion for her and she finds it her mission to do something good with it.
We are ever so proud of working with her for her take on gender equality and her care about sustainable production methods. We hope you enjoy her fresh colors, imaginative wildlife, and empowering subjects.
4 things you didn't know about Frida:
Her story:
I'm a freelance illustrator, designer, and poster maker based in Gothenburg, Sweden, who is always creating something. I studied at the Academy of Design and Crafts in Gothenburg. My specialty is colorful patterns, retro looks, details, and graphite. I'm making illustrations in all different kinds of shapes and forms, usually inspired by plants, animals, and my everyday life.
The main issues she tackles as a woman artist:
As a woman artist, I’m interested in 'equality’ and making this issue as visible as I can through my art and design. I strive to make my work as sustainable as possible, both socially and environmentally.
She designs with passion or commitment:
I think it's a little bit of both. Creating is a passion and something I need to do to be happy. I also feel lucky to be able to create and that it's my mission to use it for something good. Such as making the question about equality and human rights visible or, more recently, climate change.
What she'd pick to design a poster for a city, a TV show, and a book:
The city would probably be my hometown Gothenburg, already made one! The TV show would be "Stranger Things," and the book is a hard one. Maybe a Harry Potter book.
